About
Daniel is a passionate and skilled osteopath. He aims to understand your needs and expectations in order to create a suitable treatment plan for your problem and get you back doing the things you love. He enjoys helping and improving the health of people who are suffering from both short and long term pain.
Education
Daniel studied at Victoria University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Clinical Sciences) and Master of Health Science (Osteopathy) in 2010. Since then he has worked in numerous busy and well-respected clinics around Australia. He has also taught at two of the three Universities in Australia that teach Osteopathy, therefore, has an amazingly rounded perspective of Osteopathy in Australia.
Interest Areas
He has a keen interest in treating people who suffer from headaches, neck pain, knee pain, low back pain and postural related injuries. Daniel always strives to help you return to health as quickly as possible. He encourages you to take an active involvement in your recovery, often prescribing exercise and lifestyle changes that can help to manage long term pain.
Approach to Osteopathy
Daniel believes in an evidence-based approach to treatment, utilising research, clinical experience and knowledge from mentors. He utilises a direct structural approach including soft tissue massage, dry needling, muscle energy technique (MET), articulation and high-velocity low amplitude (HVLA). Daniel endeavours to combine this with his sound knowledge around pain science and the central mediators of pain to give you the best tools available to be able to achieve your goals (less pain, increased performance, better quality of life etc.)
Multi-disciplinary approach
Daniel is a strong advocate about the role that Osteopathy has to play in the medical landscape and regularly spends time listening to lectures and observing other health care professions including, but not limited to Sports Medicine Doctors, Neurologists, Pain Specialists, Orthopedic Surgeons, General Practitioners, Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists and Podiatrists. This helps him to develop not only his own skills but to be more aware of the skill sets of other health care providers, thus allowing him to refer appropriately when required. He also maintains very strong relationships with local personal trainers, massage therapists, yoga instructors, myotherapists (the list goes on).
Golf
Daniel has had extra training with the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI). There he worked with practitioners and golf pros from across Australia and the USA, who instruct the world’s best golfers. They showed techniques on how to reduce pain and improve performance. He is now TPI certified to perform golf assessments, therefore, enabling you to hit the ball further, with more consistency and less pain.
Running Analysis
Daniel is also proficient in running analysis and utilises video analysis to get you running longer distances pain-free. So if your suffering from exertional lower leg pain, plantar fasciitis, a
